Winifred H. Pearcy, Loving Mother of 2, Grandmother of 5, and Great-Grandmother of 8, passed away, on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Magnolia Springs Senior Living, Carmel, IN.

Winnie was born June 4th, 1926, in Racine, WI. She grew up in Kokomo, IN.
She attended Purdue University, and graduated with a BS Degree in Home Economics. While attending Purdue University, she worked as a model, lifeguard, and receptionist. It was at Purdue that she met her lifelong husband Don, while he was waiting tables, at her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi. After graduating, Winnie taught school in Kokomo, where she married Don, prior to moving to Chicago. In Chicago, she taught school and then raised her family, in La Grange Park, IL. Winnie and Don were together for 64 wonderful years, prior to Don’s passing in 2014.

She loved having her family nearby and traveling the world with Don. She also loved cooking, sewing, competitive bridge and the occasional slot machine. For the last 3 years, she enjoyed many different activities, with her friends, at Magnolia Springs.

Winnie was preceded, in death, by her husband Donald, mother Emeline, father Ernest and sisters Carol and Marion. She is survived by her son Thomas Pearcy (Carolyn), daughter Janet Hawkinson (John), Grandsons Chris (Jen), Paul (Molly) and Ryan (Jenna) Pearcy, Granddaughters Emily Padgett (Tyler), Lindsay Baile (Jason), Great Grandchildren, Noah, Sam, Eli, Clara, Ben, Austin and Kayla Pearcy, and Macey Padgett.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 22, at 2pm, at Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church, 801 W. 73rd Street, Indianapolis, IN. In lieu of flowers, tax deductible Donations can be made, to Agape Therapeutic Riding Resources, Inc., P.O. Box 207, Cicero, IN. Light food and refreshments will be served after the service.
