Wilma Gardner went to heaven July 11, 2019 after a long illness, while her husband was at her bedside.
Wilma was born to the late Emily Sewell Wolfgang and Loren K. Wolfgang on January 13, 1926 in Fortville at her family’s home. She graduated from Fortville Highschool in 1944. She became the bride of David Lee Gardner in November of 1944.
She worked at Delco Remy. She was a wonderful wife, homemaker, and mother. She loved music, cooking, blue, and lilacs. Family was her top priority.
She is survived by her husband, David Gardner, of 74 years. Her children, Pamela (Andrew) Kolins, Gary (Cathy) Gardner, Rhonda Porter and Shawn Kearns. Grandchildren, Shelly (Tim) Stottlemyer, Guy (Wendy)Bodenhorn, David Kearns, Derrick Kearns, Molly Porter, Damon Porter, Mary (Jake) Carr, and Maggie Gardner. Great grandchildren, Emily (John) Tibbs, Erin Stottlemyer, Olivia Stottlemyer, Keegan Burkhardt, Remington Bodenhorn, Austin Kearns, and Sophie Kearns. Brother, Jerry (Chari) Wolfgang. She also had many, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by special friend, Andrew Larue.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emily and Loren Wolfgang, sisters, Lola Esther Elmerick and Virginia Raymer, brothers, Norman Wolfgang, Loren Wolfgang Jr. and son in-law, Kit Porter.
