William C. Isaacs, 80, of Liberty, Indiana passed away Jan. 29, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospice Care Center in Indianapolis after a brave battle with cancer.

He was born Aug. 27, 1935 in Anderson, IN; son of the late James Roy and Crystal Ford Isaacs.

William “Bill” graduated from Anderson High School in 1953, and was trained and degreed in Accounting at Sacramento City College and Metropolitan State University respectively. Bill proudly served in the Army Airborne Branch of the US Military as an Expert Rifleman and Paratrooper in the 508th Airborne Infantry Regiment during the Korean War.

Bill played baseball for Anderson High School and enjoyed the outdoors, travel, auto racing, and was an avid golfer. He loved Bluegrass music and camping with family in the beautiful Smokey Mountains.

Surviving are 4 blessed children, Carl Isaacs (Kathleen) of Durham, NC, Terry Isaacs (Zilpha Wood) and Jill Long (Paul) both of Indianapolis, Milly Isaacs of Anderson and their precious mother, Alice Chambers of Anderson. Bill leaves 5 beautiful and inspiring grandchildren, Amanda Draper, Andrew Isaacs, Anna Long, Adrienne Isaacs and John Long.

Surviving sibling includes Ray Isaacs (Trudy) of Muncie, IN, and two siblings preceding Bill in death, Ann Sachse and David Isaacs of Anderson.

A special thanks to the many caretakers and family members of Bill during his final days, especially Tim Sachse (nephew) of Anderson.

The family kindly request that memorial gifts be placed with the American Cancer Society. Bill’s friends and loved ones are encouraged to send their condolences to Indiana Funeral Care at IndianaFuneralCare.com.   A formal Graveside Military Honors Service will be held on March 4, 2016 at the Marion National Cemetery in Marion, IN.
