Willa Blanche Rogers, 80, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Monday, the 20th of June. Mrs. Rogers was born on December 29, 1935 in Lawrenceville, Illinois to the late Wilbur and Ethel Lukens.
Willa was not only a loving mother, but she also found time to volunteer for school activities and with the American Heart Association. Later, after school days were finished, she was a cashier and office worker for Standard and Kroger Groceries. Willa also filled that position at K-Mart.
She is survived by: her husband of 63 years, Gerald L. Rogers; 4 daughters, Cynthia (Joseph) Letteri, Katherine (Timothy) Kersey, Peggy (Michael) Hamilton and Jeri (Andrew) Johnstone; many grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Willa is preceded in death by: her parents and 4 brothers.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Indiana Funeral Care; Harry W. Moore Chapel, located at 8151 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, Indiana 46250, from 12- 2. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Riley’s Children Hospital or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
