
Thomas W. Cancilla
67, passed away in Fintas, Kuwait on July 26, 2017. Tom met his wife, Robin at the Indy 500, they fell in love, married and just celebrated 42 years together in June. The summer before he graduated from Ball State with a degree in Architecture he went to Arcosanti in Cordes Junction, Arizona to study and work with Paolo Soleri. After he graduated from Ball State Tom and Robin went to Cornell University where he received his Master’s Degree studying Architectural Design and Theory under Mathias Ungers.
Several of the projects Tom worked on in Indianapolis were Market Tower, FedEx Building, and the Indianapolis International Airport. His International work includes a 72-story tower in Riyadh, Doha International Airport and College of Science, University of Kuwait. Tom enjoyed Indy car and Formula One, spending time at Wasatch Lake, golf, art, and when home going out to Saturday morning breakfast with the guys.
Tom is survived by his wife Robin; brother-in-law, Rod Linkous; niece, Marie Hooper; Godson, Terry Lee Myers; beloved dogs, Roxie and Milo; and his wonderful friends.
Mass is scheduled for Wednesday, August 30th at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 11 a.m.
