Sigrid Johanna Lundy, 78, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 12 at 5pm at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Noblesville.
Sigrid was born on March 19, 1940 in Bad Nauheim, Germany to Kurt and Margaret Sautier. After moving to the United States, she married John C. Lundy on October 17, 1974 in Kokomo, Indiana. Sigrid and John lived in Kokomo for 27 years and enjoyed traveling with family and friends throughout the United States and Europe. John passed away in 2001 and Sigrid then moved to Noblesville, Indiana to be close to her grandchildren. She was affectionately known as “Oma”, which means grandmother in German, to all the neighborhood children and she loved playing that role. She always had fresh cookies and pastries for any child that would stop by. She cherished her grandchildren, Carter and Tatum, and loved to go fishing with Carter and to watch Tatum play softball and basketball. Sigrid was also a member of St. Michael’s church and she enjoyed spending time with her friends there doing lunches and dinners. She will be missed by all.
Sigrid is survived by Kurt and Lisa Ball and her grandchildren, Carter and Tatum.
Dianne Clark says
I am deeply saddened to hear about my neighbor who lived right across the street from me for many, many years. Ziggy was a good friend to me. We would often talk about various things while enjoying the out-of-doors. I miss those times.
I observed her as she served her church and how the women would congregate at her place and enjoy wonderful times there. She was so active at her church working to help all the members feel welcome. She even did gardening there at times to help keep the grounds looking nice and orderly.
My husband and I traveled a lot and Ziggy was always kind in watching our place and often went the extra mile in putting our garbage cans away. We tried to help each other out in various ways.
I remember she was so sweet to our Brett and Keith and Kevin Zeller, twins, who lived next door to her. She also was very close to Natalie and Nick Troski who lived on the other side of her. They all loved her and her cookies.
We moved away the summer before she died and I had no idea my friend had passed away. I will miss her, but my memories of her will be forever. She was a kind, sweet neighbor to us.
Condolences to her son and grandchildren. May they know and feel the joy of their mom and grandmother being once again with her loved ones who have passed on before her and especially with her husband who had waited a long time to see her again.
Bless her heart.
