Sherry Lynn (Doades) Bullis, 73, passed away on Tuesday February 16, surrounded by her family and caring staff from Life Journey.  Sherry was born to the late Charles S. and Marion F. (Rowe) Doades on October 25, 1942, in Indianapolis. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Benjamin Bullis. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly (Robert) Rodriguez; brothers Mike (Judy) Doades, Charles “Tim” Doades; sisters Pat (John) Hill, Rebecca Phillippi, Mary Frances Metacarpa; grandchildren Jeff (Amanda) Rodriguez, Brandon Rodriguez, step children Sherry and Sam Pate, Missy and David James, Chris Bullis, step grandchildren Hunter, Brady and Logan Short and Valerie, Hannah, Charles and Brad; and her beloved dog, Cassie.

Sherry grew up in Indianapolis and lived in Florida, Texas, Georgia, Ohio and Alabama.

She loved swimming, horses and Elvis and enjoyed traveling and working around the country with George during their lives together.

Sherry made friends wherever she lived.  She leaves behind many cherished friends at AHEPA 232, including:

Cynthia Van Alstine, Bob Lugenbeal, Carol Youngblood, Nancy Trisler, Pat Collier, Jean Crabtree, John Pruitt, Karen Luerssen and Patricia North.  Sherry treasured her friends and spoke of them often during visits with the family.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to these individuals for their kindness and assistance during this difficult time.

Daughter Kim remembers her mother in these words written a few days after her death:

“My mom never ended a conversation or phone call without telling you she loved you.  She didn’t always know how to show love, but I knew she loved me because she always made sure she told me over and over and over again!  I will miss being able to pick up the phone and hear her voice.  I miss her already!”

Sherry received the Last Rites of the Catholic Church shortly before her death.  There will be no services.. Arrangements entrusted to Indiana Funeral Care.
