
Sarah J. Dyer, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 18, 2016. She was born on February 27, 1932 in Albany, Kentucky to Joe and Emma Claborn.
She is survived by her 7 children, Brenda J. Long, Gary L. (Sandra) Dyer, Cynthia A. (John) Smith, Sammy D. Dyer, Shirley A. (Ray) Hibbard, Denise R. (Jay) Amos, and David Dyer; grandchildren, Michael J. Duckett, Gary S. Dyer, Kelly J. Godzecki, Crystal L. Hazelwood, Kevin E. Gamble Jr., Cory D. Gamble, Angelisa C. Sullivan, Ray D. Hibbard Jr., Dillon W. Hibbard, Samantha J. Hibbard, and Robert J. Amos Jr.; great grandchildren, Michael, Tiffany, Jacob, Jazzmyn, Joshua, Conner, Tristen, and Austen; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wendall Claborn, Creed Claborn, Preston Claborn, Robert Claborn, AC Claborn, JB Claborn, Burl Claborn; and her sister, Imagene Owens.
A visitation will be on Monday, August 22, 2016 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W Moore Chapel. Her funeral service will be the following day, Tuesday, August 23 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Union Chapel Cemetery.
She was a strong independent, hard working woman. She raised 7 children and worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken for 13 ½ years after her children were grown. She was a great cook and homemaker. Our mom was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was not only our mother but our best friend.
