Sandra “Sandi” Neer, loved a good bargain and telling others “where to go”, and not for a bargain. Sandra was released to Heaven by her family on Saturday, June 23, 2018. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was called to eternal life shortly after.
Born December 2, 1944 in Indianapolis, IN., Sandra graduated from Southport High School. In her career, she held various positions and worked for Bridgestone-Firestone where she worked until her retirement.
Sandra was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family and worked hard to take care of her loved ones. She had a kind and generous spirit. She also didn’t mind telling people how to live their lives. Sandra could fix your life if you listened carefully and she would do it for free. She loved making Christmas ornaments but would not give them to her daughters. Her daughters are still afraid to take them. She was proud of setting her in-laws straight and lovingly yelled at them often to make sure they understood. She loved to send her family to eight grocery stores, to get three items. She equally loved saving thirteen cents but spending six dollars in gas to find that bargain. She was argumentative, but kind, frugal but generous, overbearing, but concerned, controlling but caring. She was the best mother, wife, sister-in law, grandmother and great grandmother anyone could hope to have. Her family will miss her quick wit and coupons. Sandra was cherished by so many, she will truly be missed and will never understand the countless lives she touched with her love and mothering. Please note that Sandra instructed her family that she did not want a funeral, but a memorial of her life. She will be upset that her family did not use a coupon.
Left to honor Sandra and remember her love is Sandra’s spouse; Richard Pierce; 3 daughters; Angela Neer, Kimberly Neer (Robert Ward) and De’Andre (Jerry) Owsley, eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and numerous relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ina and David Berger.
Sandra’s life will be honored at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis on Thursday, July 5, 2018. There will be social time from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The memorial will take place at 1:00 p.m.

In the moment in life you try to capsulize one’s life in a few sentences, because seems to be all the time you have, but Sandy’s indelible spirit is there for ever, God’s grace and mercy will carry us back to her. I’m not just sure how my brother will move on, like the song in Sparkle,”One Wing”,but he should know,God, his children and family will always be with him, love”Butch”
Sandra J Davis says
“It’s So Hard To Say Good Bye To Yesterday!! This song really says it all for me at this time. I am going to miss my dear (other) sister Sandy because of the special bond that we shared in this life together. I am so thankful that God allowed us to be together for as long as He did. Sandy was not only a sister to me, but my true friend. To my dear brother Dickie and my beautiful nieces Angel, Kim and Dee Dee, I am praying for God to strengthen you through family and friends that here for you. Just know that you are loved always…Joanne
