
Samuel L. Moore, 70, of Indianapolis died January 22, 2015. Sam was born August 29, 1944 in Starkville, Mississippi. He graduated from Henderson High School, attended Mississippi Valley State University where he played football, was drafted by the Chicago Bears in 1968, and played semi-pro football with the Indianapolis Caps. Along with working for International Harvester/Navistar for 30 years, he also owned and operated an auto body shop, which showcased his passion for repairing and painting cars. he was an avid race fan and drag racer, building, painting, and working on several racecars over the years. His love of cars was his hobby and passion; he went to the track to watch and race every opportunity he could. Services will be held on January 31, 2015 at 12 noon at Forest Manor United Methodist Church 4062 East 34th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46218, with visitation from 10 am until time of service.
He is survived by his wife Patricia; sisters Gussie Zuber and Earnestine Morris; brothers; children LaVester, Sammie (Shelli), Rashonda, and Erika; grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
