
Roxanna Marie “Roxi” Spoon (Trump), 65, of Shirley, IN, passed away June 3, 2015 at her mother’s home in Indianapolis, IN following her brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Roxi was born in South Bend, IN on April 10, 1950 to Lila J. (Cowen) and James E. Trump. She moved to Indianapolis, Indiana with her family in 1956 where she graduated from Arlington High School. She attended Indiana State University prior to her employ at Methodist Hospital as a unit secretary and then with Prudential Insurance Company. Roxi married her husband, Kenneth “Kenny” Robert Spoon on July 7, 1973. Her new life as a Navy wife took her to California and Virginia before Kenny’s honorable discharge when they returned to Indianapolis before establishing permanent residency in Shirley, IN.
Roxi is survived by her husband Kenny, sons James Robert Spoon, Joseph Brady Spoon (Christa), Clifford Andrew Spoon (Michelle), grandchildren Angeline Baker, Tyla Jo, Lexi Ray, Joseph, Jr., Ginger, Jerry, Jessica, and Jackie Spoon, mother Lila J. (Cowen) Trump, sisters Sherri Trump (Dave Davidson), Darci Sieracki (Dennis), brothers James “Tobi” Trump, Jr. (Debbie), Nelson “Buddi” Trump (Beth), 12 nieces and nephews, 19 great-nieces and nephews, and her beloved and devoted dog, Sammy. She is preceded in death by her father, James E. Trump, Sr., and her nephew, Adam Crago.
Roxi is remembered as a wonderful caretaker who always put others before herself. She enjoyed life fully, particularly when sitting around a bonfire with family and friends or boating on Lake Monroe. Everyone’s favorite, Roxi was loving and lovable. She will be most fondly remembered and most sorely missed.
Visitation will be Noon – 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015 followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care/Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Roxi’s name.
