Ronnie Edward Tillman also known to many as “The good looking one “and “The Great Uncle Ron” passed away suddenly on December 1, 2015.

He will be greatly missed by his Mother Doris Tillman, brothers Dwaine and Steve Tillman, sisters Susan Henry, Barb Caudill, many nieces and nephews and Ronnie’s 4 cats Lenny, Reggie, Edward and Benjamin.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his identical twin brother Lonnie Edwin, a sister Debra Sue, wife Rhona and father Donovan Edward Tillman.

Ronnie was born August 27, 1947 to Donovan and Doris Tillman in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He lived in Minneapolis until age 14 when he moved with his family to Lafayette, Indiana. After high school graduation Ronnie was drafted into the army and served two years one in Viet Nam.   After his discharge from the army Ronnie spent several years being a free spirit and traveling the US in a converted mail truck.   Ronnie’s adventures would later be shared with all. Ronnie kind spirt and unique sense of humor made it very easy to make friends everywhere he would go.

Eventually Ronnie settled in Indianapolis in the Broad Ripple and joined his father and brothers in business where he worked until his death.   After several years of the bachelor life Ronnie meet a girl from Ireland Rhona and they were married.

Ronnie’s kindness and love for animals especially cats would change the lives of many strays. Ronnie would love and care for so many cats doing his life as if they were his children.

Ronnie was also very devoted to his mother.   He would spend much of his time caring for her, talking with her, creating a very special bond between mother and son.   She will miss him dearly.

We will all miss Ronnie’s quick witt and sense of humor. He had a unique way of looking at life and people. He could quickly take a situation, story or comment and inject his sense of humor and make us smile.

Truly he was one of a kind.

Love you Ron.

Family and friend are invited to share in a life celebration on December 20, 2015, at the American Legion Post 34. Located at 2210 East 54th, Indianapolis between 1 and 4 pm.

It’s been two weeks since we lost Ron and still difficult to accept his passing. I miss talking and laughing with him and hearing his favorite phrases such as “the good looking Tillman”, “my mother likes me” and “GO COLTS”. The fond memories and his joyful spirit are everlasting and for that we can all be thankful.

I knew Ron back in the 70’s while a student at IU. He was exactly how people describe him. Kind and funny. I had a very strange experience while driving to work (at a funeral home) and was wondering about Ron, when I found his obituary. Not in my life for long.,but I never forgot him! Great Friend
