
Roberts Richard Rogers
Bob Rogers passed away Dec 1, 2016, in Carmel, IN. He was born Oct. 31, 1925 to Escur Emeral Rogers and Evelyn Frances Diffey in Hutchinson, KS. The family moved to Arkansas where they founded the town of Rogers, AR. Bob attended schools in AR and OK until WW II broke out and he was drafted. He served in the Navy, reaching the rank of Radioman Third Class until his discharge at the end of the war. Most of his duty was during the war on the ship USS Alhena where he was a radioman and one of the first to disembark. After the war, he enrolled and graduated from Kansas State with a degree in Sociology. Before moving to Kansas City, MO he worked for the Boeing Co in Wichita, KS. He then began his career with Hallmark Cards where he soon became an active member of the manufacturing team. During that time, he managed several of the outlying manufacturing plants in Emporia, Westwood and others. Later he managed the Springbok puzzle factory in Endicott, CT. Later an opportunity came to manage a larger plant of Acme Visible Records in Wabash, IN where he later retired.
Many activities and contributions have been achieved during his life time, such as his many Chamber of Commerce positions as well as President. He started the Jr. Achievement program which still is active under another name. He was also active in his church which he was Elder, chairman of the United Way in Wabash County, and founded the first chapter of Junior Achievement in Wabash in the early 80’s, his son’s various activities, and other various local needs which were freely given during his lifetime. Dad was President of Datavue Products in Wabash, which employed nearly 1,000 people in a town of 12,000.
He married Doris Milliken, a college friend from Williamsburg, KS on June 27, 1953 and they raised 3 sons, Roberts Richard, (Jennifer) Timothy Truscott (Deann), and Marshall, all from the Northside Indianapolis area. There are seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Zachary, Taylor, Meghan, Seth Elizabeth, and Jaquan.

Military services will be held Dec. 23rd at 2pm at Marion National Cemetery, 1700 E. 38th Street Marion, IN 46952 at their outdoor chapel.
