Robert Oliver Flatt, 85, of Christopher, Illinois passed from this life on September 9th, 2014 at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in Fishers, Indiana.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20th, at the First Christian Church, 105 N. Maple Street, in Christopher, Illinois.

Pastor Daniel Ison will deliver a message in celebration of Bob’s life.

Robert Flatt was born January 27, 1929 to Charles D. and Nora Braden Flatt of Christopher. He married Naomi June Tolliver, also of Christopher, on Nov. 4, 1949, in St. Louis. She would precede him in death in 2012.

He worked for Caterpillar, Inc. until retiring in 1983. Bob was a veteran of the Korean conflict, a devoted family man, and a member of the First Christian Church. He loved to fish and cook, especially for other people.

Three sisters and two brothers preceded Robert in death.  One sister, a daughter, a son, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren survive him.

The survivors are Betty Thomas of Christopher, Illinois, Dana Hanson of Clearwater, Florida, Steve and Linda (Rogers) Flatt of Fishers Indiana, Aaron and Ryan (Williams) Hanson of Sandy, Oregon, Andria Hanson, Dani Ferrari and Kevin Ferrari of Clearwater, Florida, Brent and Jayne Clara (Doolittle) Flatt of Carmel, Indiana, and Christian Flatt of Fishers, Indiana. His great grandchildren are Natalie Hanson, Jackson Flatt, and Adelynn Flatt.
