Robert (Bob) Alan Cress, 69, of Westfield, IN died Oct. 18, 2016, in Indianapolis from complications due to melanoma. A memorial service will be held on Oct. 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Nutter Farm Methodist Church (email robertcressii@gmail.com for directions.) Mr. Cress was born in Parkersburg on December 8, 1946 and graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1965.

Survivors include his wife Susan Bowman Cress, brother William David Cress II, sister Jane Elizabeth Cress Edgar, sons Robert Alan Cress II and Christopher Michael Cress (Shannon), Stepdaughter Amy S. Lents (Nick) and grandchildren Dylan Michael Cress, Olivia Rae Cress, Kellen Jameson Cress, Alexander Thomas Lents, and Andrew Joseph Lents. His parents Stella Russell Cress and William David Cress, and his brother John Russell Cress preceded him in death.

Bob grew up in south Parkersburg, WV and attended First Lutheran Church. He studied engineering and chemistry at West Virginia University Institute of Technology and Glenville State College. He was a quality engineer in manufacturing. He served in the Army reserves. He loved his family and was a devoted father and husband.
