
Raymond Phillips, 87, Brownsburg, IN passed away Feb. 14th, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospice.
Ray was born in Indianapolis on Dec. 30th, 1927 to the late Sterling and Ruth Phillips. He graduated from Tech High School. His career was in printing and was Manager of the IUPUI Printing Facilities when he retired in 1993.
Ray was an avid golfer and filled his days playing golf after retirement.
He also worked at the Midwest Sports Complex, mowing the softball diamonds and the Crooked Creek Golf Course for 21 years.
Ray was a Past Exalted Ruler and a lifetime member of the Indianapolis Elks Lodge #13. He served in the Navel Reserves. He was preceded in death by 3 of his brothers, William, David, Sterling Jr.; Son-in Law Kenneth Skinner. He is survived by his loving wife C. Sue Phillips of 27 years. Daughter, Ruth Skinner, New York; Sons, Michael, Indianapolis and Gregory, Michigan; Brothers, Charles, FL and Donald, Ga; Stepdaughter, CynthiaJewett, IN; Stepson, J. Allen Martin, Indianapolis; 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandsons.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Twin Lakes Golf Club,3200 W. 96th St., Carmel, IN. March 14, 2015 at 2:00 pm -4:00 pm.
