Paul Matthew Bowe, 89, peacefully went to heaven carried on the wings of angels on January 8, 2016.

Paul was born in Chatfield, Minnesota on June 29, 1926 to William and Margaret Bowe. He was raised on a farm with 11 brothers and sisters. He enlisted in the Army in 1949. Years later he found the love of his life, Rose Hanf, now deceased. They were married on October 16, 1954.

Paul worked for the Rochester Mn. Fire Department and recalled fond memories of his working companions.

Throughout life, he owned a bar name “Lucky Mike’s” in Hammond, MN, along with working the restaurant and managing a hotel. They lived in Cannon Falls, MN and he managed the municipal bar and liquor store.

Fishing and camping with family was an enjoyment to him almost any time of the year. Paul loved playing a good poker game with family and friends.

Paul and Rose ran and Adult Foster Care out of their home for many years and found that to be a heartfelt contribution to the disabled and elderly.

He is survived by his twin sister, Pauline, as well as Loretta, Rosemary, and Betty. A son, Greg (Alvina) and daughter, Jean. Paul is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A private service will be held at a later date.

My dad and Paul worked together @ Home Gas until Paul became a fireman. My dad wanted to be a fireman also, but he was too short. God bless you all during this time of sorrow.

Boy oh boy I’m about speechless. I wish I could have been there to tell you goodbye. Yet my kids met you and they told you daily how much I loved you. I’m gonna miss you grandpa so very much. But I know Grandma was waiting at the gates for you to arrive with a big ole pan of raw fries.. Give her a kiss & tell her I love her. You will be missed dearly. So until I see you again please keep an eye on me because everyday my life seems to get harder..I love you grandpa..
