Nicholas Ricardo Diaz (Nick), 28 was born on March 24, 1991, and passed on June 7, 2019.
Nick was a loyal family man and loved his children more than life itself. His life was enriched beyond measure the day he became a father, and they filled his heart and soul with pure God-given joy.
He will be remembered for his bigger than life personality and unique sense of humor, Nick had a selfless spirit and a willingness to literally give the shirt off his back. Those who met him knew he had a heart bigger than most and was a friend to all that he encountered. Nick made an impact on everyone he met. He was the first to extend a hand and offer a warm, compassionate and caring smile.
He was preceded in death by his father Ricardo Diaz, grandfather Herbert L Dwyer, Jr, Grandmother Maria Miller, uncle Tony Diaz, infant brother Matthew David and infant daughter Marianna Nichole.
Nick leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved parents, Marian and Joe Borondy; children Roman Ricardo, and Maximus Jack and their siblings David “Owen” and Maryjane . Siblings, Lorenzo, Carmen (Alex), Gabrielle, Joe, Logan (Rio) and Taylor. Grandmother, Joanne L Dwyer, Grandfather Larry Miller and Grandparents Walter and Connie Diaz, stepmother Michelle Kowal, and the love of his life, Moraima Velez-Sharkey and her family.
Nick dearly loved and adored all of his aunts and uncles and was especially close to his maternal side; Herb (Mary), Janis (David), Edward (Margarita), Paula (Tim).
He was very close to wonderful cousins, too many to list them all. Countless extended family members and a host of other special friends.
Nick had an incomprehensible bond with his siblings. The depth of their love never waivered and will sustain them, today, tomorrow and forever. They were truly best friends and soulmates. They literally are each other’s keepers.
“Love will hold us together, make us a shelter to weather the storm & I’ll be my brother’s keeper, So the whole world would know that we’re not alone. Cus even in the dark you can still see the light, it’s gonna be alright”
Funeral service will be held at Allisonville Christian Church, 7701 Allisonville Road on Wednesday, June 19th at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Oaklawn Memorial Garden where he will be laid to rest next to his father.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 18th, from 4pm-8pm at Allisonville Christian Church.
Nick truly loved the Lord and had a strong relationship with Him his entire time on this earth. He found peace in God’s love for him at his church home, ITOWN Church, where he was always welcomed with open arms. Nick was passionate about encouraging others to believe in the Lord and to live out their faith in their daily lives. Nick’s funeral service will be co-officiated by Pastor Brennan Chalk from ITOWN and Rev. Diane Spleth from Allisonville Christian Church. “So he returned home to his Father, And while he was still a long way off, his Father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, He ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him” Luke 15:20
A memorial fund has been set up for Roman and Maximus at Indiana Members Credit Union, 95 South Mitthoefer Rd. Indianapolis 46229. Checks can be made out to Marian Borondy. Please put in the Memo: Diaz Memorial.

May you find peace and comfort knowing that Nick has returned home to our Heavenly Father. There will always be a special place in my heart for Nick as he is a very special young man. When he reached out to me about Jerika passing his words will always be with me, he told me she is no longer struggling with the demons she had here on earth and she is my angel. Nick and his infectious smile and the way he always had a way of making me smile. There are no words to express the love I have for this young man. God Bless you all
