Nello R. Mallory, 78, of Indianapolis, went to be home with Lord on August 8, 2015, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Trenton, KY on March 4, 1937 to Robert and Mamie Mallory. After graduating high school, Nello moved to Indianapolis where she pursued a nursing degree. Through the years, her career path included Sunnyside Sanatorium, St. Francis Hospital – Beech Grove, and at the Plainfield Correctional Facility, where she later retired from. Nello also dedicated many years of her life caring for a disabled friend for over 20 years. She was a long time member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and reading.
She is survived by her siblings, Tillman (Linda) Mallory, Albert (Joyce) Mallory, Bertha (Granville “Buster”) Johnson, Frances Crumrine; nieces and nephews, Beverly, Melanie, Ronny, Randy, Roger, Ray, Jimmy, Pam, Pat, Paulette, Barbara, Wendy, Tracey, and Mark, and many other family members. Nello was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Ruby Ellis, Harold Scott; and her niece, Rae Crumrine.
