Nelda Jean Armstrong, 76, Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Nelda was born June 27, 1941 to the late Gerald & Louise (Plummer) Wallsmith. She graduated from Manual High School. Nelda retired from Fort Benjamin Harrison where she was a legal secretary. She served as Volunteer Coordinator for the American Cabaret Theatre, where she was able to enjoy her favorite pastime, music. She loved to sing & especially enjoyed watching her daughter, April, perform in musical theater. Nelda was caring, wickedly clever, & full of sweet sass. She was crazy-good at crosswords, liked cutting out comic strips that she thought others would enjoy, and enjoyed a whiskey and coke during her karaoke nights. She could also tell a great dirty joke with the sweetest smile on her face. She will be fiercely missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by brothers Charles Plummer and Thomas Wallsmith.
She is survived by daughter April Armstrong, son-in-law Jamesey Thomas, grandson Benjamin Thomas, sister Sandra Blakely, sister-in-law Joyce Ricottilli, nieces Shelly McEntire, Tammy Branham, Kathy Meuche, Diane Wallsmith, & Robin Miller, and nephews Bill Blakely, Keith Plummer, Kelly Plummer, and Kevin Plummer.
A memorial will occur at Linwood Christian Church on December 14th at 7pm.

I am so sorry to hear of the death of Nelda. The passing away of a loved one is always with much sorrow. May we have faith and confidence in the Bible’s promise of a time when pain, sickness and death are a thing of the past (Revelation 21:3, 4). My condolences are with the family at this difficult time.

I love her sense of humor. She made my son a homemade zucchini cake yrs ago, and he has never forgotten. He loved that cake. She is so special to my family. Heaven has become an even better place
