Nancy Truex Jackson, 83, died on September 21, 2016. A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, she graduated from Broad Ripple High School. Women in the Air Force was in its fourth year when she joined immediately following high school. She worked in military communications and was stationed in New England during the Korean War. She received an Honorable Discharge. She worked as a real estate broker for many years, most recently for ReMax. Being a consummate bargain shopper, she loved flea markets, second hand stores, art fairs and garage sales. She had a wonderful creative flair. Nancy set the gold standard for being a mother and grandmother, and she will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents Glenn S. and Esther McCoy Truex; a sister Helen Truex Knoop; and a daughter Valerie L. Jackson. She is survived by her daughters Karen S. Bandonis and Lisa A. Jackson (Tom Laird); grandchildren Joshua (Kathie) Goodpaster, Molly Bandonis, Eleanor Jackson Laird, Sam Jackson Laird; and two great-grandchildren Jared Goodpaster and Kiera Goodpaster.

Services will be at 1 pm on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, 46250. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Humane Society of Indianapolis.
