Mary May Wirz, 71 of Kokomo passed away on April 24, 2019. Mary was born to the late Grace E. Nulph and Gordian Smith on December 11, 1947, in Peru, Indiana. Mary was an Army Veteran and a member of The Salvation Army Church in Kokomo, In. Mary has been married to her husband, James John Wirz for more than 36 years.
Mary is survived by her husband, James “Jim”; children; Jeffrey Lee Hedges, Steven Andrew (Heather Begley) Hyland, Ariel-Joy Noelle Runyan, and Autumn Grace Elizabeth (Sean) Wray; grandchildren, Rose Marie Hyland, Corin Elizabeth Hyland, Faith Lynn Hyland, Krysta Marie John, Caitlynne Abigail Wray, Kaori Aiyanna Runyan, Marcus Alan Runyan, Sapphire Grace Wray, Jerika Ann Begley, and Kyla Mae Begley; great-grandchild, Cataleya Marie Briggs – Hyland; siblings, Brice Carter, Mac Allen, Bennie Dee Hayden, Herbert Cecil (Buck), Carol Sue Watts, Theresa Smith, Homer Smith Jr., and James Smith; and beloved nieces and nephews.
Mary is preceded in death by her sisters, Phyllis (Smith) McCoy and Sarah Sue.
Funeral services will be held at The Salvation Army Church, 1101 S Waugh St, Kokomo, IN on Monday, April 29th at 1:00 pm with visitation starting at 11:00 am. Burial will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Salvation Army of Kokomo, Music Department. and/or food pantry.
