The times I had the pleasure of having dinner with Mary Lou were so memorable. She smiled more than anyone I knew and was quick to pull out pictures of grandchildren. What a fantastic mother she was to have such caring and loving children as Angela and Chris. She will be missed by all.

“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and…we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with Mary Lou in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

My condolences to Mary Lou’s entire family. Mary Lou was love personified. While working with her at Sycamore, she often told stories of her family, especially her grandchildren, and the love she felt beamed from her face. She adored her students and possessed endless patience with them. Her enthusiasm for exploring, rather than simply learning, is still felt in this building. I am a better teacher for the time I spent with Mary Lou, and a better person for the example she illustrated every day. Her love for the Lord was ever present, and there is great comfort in knowing that she is rejoicing in His presence today.
