
Mark Ray Loftus, 68, of Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord on January 22, 2016. He was born on June 7, 1947 in New Castle, IN to William and Anna Loftus. He joined the US Navy in 1967, where he served his country as a Navy Corpsman. He married Edath Mayhugh in 1977, and proudly become the father of her son, Delany. Mark was an Eagledale (Northwest) Little League football coach for over a decade, coaching many generations. He was a member and past Post Commander of the American Legion Post 500, and a member of the Color Guard Post 500 National Champions.
Mark is survived by his wife of 38 years, Edath; son, Delany Johnson; grandsons, Eli and Levi Johnson; sister, Judy (Bill) Hess; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Pepper (his baby), Baby, and Bobo. He was preceded in death by his parents and his dogs, Butchy, Bear, Boots, and Rocky.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown, IN. Friends may call on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
