Madelyn Elizabeth O’Reilly (June 19, 2012 – September 8, 2018) was a daddy’s girl, her mommy’s world, and a much-loved middle sister.
Throughout her six years of life, she was never short of smiles to share with anyone she met. She began her life as a Jersey girl but after five weeks moved to Granger, Indiana. She curated an extensive library of animated films and stuffed animals. School was her happiest place on earth. She loved being surrounded by friends and singing songs.
Madelyn’s sweet, determined, and tenacious spirit lives on through her parents Joe and Amy, siblings Aiden and Eleanor, canine sister Kona and many other family members including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of Madelyn’s life will occur on Wednesday, September 19th, 2018 at 10:30am at St. Paul Catholic Church in Westerville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Lewis Center, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be pleased to have you support the mission of either of the following organizations

Joe & family, I can’t imagine what you’re going through or thinking. I can try but your hearts have been hit in a way that only those that have experienced this in their own lives can even begin to truly imagine. My words will fall flat, my thoughts empty no matter how much I wished they’d help. Gods gift of life is truly a blessing & sometimes those gifts are shorter than we’d like but no less a gift. Your time with your daughter was cherished, I feel that w/o even knowing you & your family that well. Joe, you always had a good head on your shoulders from the brief time I got to know you through work, do not lose that because your family will need you now more than ever. Be strong & always keep those memories of her & your time together close to your heart. They should always be remembered & cherished. Trust in family & close friends. Be open & try to keep God close even though in these times of loss this is easy to preach & hard to do. With all sincerity, with all my heart, my families prayers are with yours & I hope that eventually you & your family can find some peace in knowing that your little girl is watching over all of you now. I’m sure she’d want you to live on in a way that resembles the family she got to be a part of for 6 years & have fun & be a closer family than ever in the coming months & years. One day, a long time from now, your daughter will greet you with the biggest smile you have ever seen & all memory of loss & sadness will be erased. Until that day, rely on your strength, your friends, God & most importantly your family.
With love & respect~ Scott M.

I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. She meant the world to me and showed me strength and beauty and brought her friends great joy everyday at school. She loved her song “Itsy Bitsy Spider” and her fiesty diva spirit loved when her fingernails where painted. She was an angel on earth, now she’s angel in heaven… sing and dance my angel… you can now fly….you are forever in my heart… and my deepest sympathy to the family…God bless this family through this trying time
