
M. Jane Olinger, 71, passed away Monday March 28 in the care of her sisters, Rita and Mary Ellen, at Rita’s home in Fishers, Ind., after a 10 month battle with cancer. This was a 3rd and final bout with cancer since age 49.
Jane was a graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Evansville Class of 1965. She worked ICU at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis for 30 years. She retired 5 years ago and was able to enjoy several years of tennis and travel with her many friends.
She is survived by her son, John Paul and 2 grandsons, Lunden and Ellis of Indianapolis; 2 sisters, Rita (Wayne) Jones of Indy and Mary Ellen (Leo) Will of Evansville; brothers, John (Pierrett) of Lowell, MI, Steve of Westfield, and Tom (Sandra) of San Jose, CA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Alice Olinger, and her brother, Surfer Joe.
Her wish was to be cremated and a Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 7 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Indianapolis. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until mass.
