Services will be held at St. Augustine Home, Little Sisters of the Poor, 2345 West 86th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana  46260, May 29 at 11:00 AM, with a Celebration of Life that evening at 5312 Riverview Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana  46208 that evening.

Our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, sister and friend, Louise Roscoe, age 98, joined the angels from her home at St. Augustine on May 13, 2014. In the past few years dementia diminished the fullness of her kind generous and positive nature but the essence of her spirit prevailed. In her many long years she found vocation and passion in being a restauranteur, proprietor and, artist.

Louise was born in Apollo, Pennsylvania on April 19, 1916. She also resided in the Lake region of Ohio and briefly in San Francisco, but Florida was the home that she would love most. The past five years she resided in Indianapolis to be closer to family.

She was preceded in death by her brother and sisters: Amelio Morotti, Inez Roediger ,Elizabeth Schneider, and survived by her brother and sister: Joseph Morotti (Olga) and Dorothy Webster (Alfred); daughters: Gloria Morotti and Carol Morotti (Scott Westphal); grandchildren: Elizabeth Gilchrist (Andrew), Deborah Harwood (Robert), William Wesley, Jessica Dinwiddie (Peter), Britt Douglas (Andrel) and Christopher Conway (Rachel Bennett). She is also survived by twelve most precious great grand children: Mathew, Robbie, Grace, Nathan, Kyla, Reid, Andrew, Houston, Lilly, Derek, Michael and Lou. Also left behind, but remembered dearly, our loving friend Dona Broerman and caring soul, Jessica Glendening, both of Indianapolis.

Work defined Louise. She was a landlord extraordinaire, making room where no one else could, and keeping her tenants on the straight and narrow. Her talents ranged from sewing to fine art. Eclectic in her mediums, she produced oil paintings, needlework, quilts, crocheted and knitted afghans. She was recognized by receiving many best of show and first place ribbons. Music and dancing were in her soul, and aside from be-bopping at dances in high school, weddings and other events, she would clap and toe tap her way through any lively musical performance. Her organized dancing efforts took the shape of square dancing where she dressed the part in her home-fashioned costumes. We saw this artistic nature in her constant appreciation of the sky, especially sunsets, and she loved her many trips canoeing on the White River. Most of all she was a caregiver: Loving unselfishly, she gave to her friends and family abundantly and without question.

If anyone would like to make a donation in lieu of flowers, please forward to St. Augustine Home at the above address.

In Rest, no breath left for this world
Your nature of tireless giving reaches ..
Embracing and seeping into our very soul
That we may know and give, even half
~ your spirit lives ~

I wish to add my condolences to the family of Louise M. Roscoe. She certainly embraced life with her hearty spirit & joy of life. She would have been a woman I would have loved to have know but then, her beautiful personality drifted down to her precious grandaughter, Debbie whom I love dearly. Louise will be missed but her genuine spirited soul will live forever in those who loved her.
