
Loren Wesley Lewis, was born on October 19, 1931 in Georgetown, Georgia to the late John Henry Lewis (father) and Mozella Proctor (mother). Loren passed away on October 23, 2017 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Loren’s long life touched many individuals with his love and humor.
Loren grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, where he became a child of God at an early age. He moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1953 where he became an auto mechanic, and later joined the Ford Motor Company and spent most of his 30 year career as a Union Rep for the UAW. He retired from Ford in 1984.
Loren enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports, cooking, gardening, attending casinos, and enjoyed his annual trips to Nashville to watch Tennessee State (TSU) football.
Loren Lewis leaves to cherish his memory, Joyce Granberry, his loving soul mate and care giver, his children Vanessa Lorraine Lewis, Loren Wesley Lewis II, and step-children Wayne Adams, Derrick Adams, and Andre Adams. Grandchildren, William Dione Lewis (deceased), Fonda Terrell Lewis, Wesley Germaine Lewis (Shannel), Lyric Kristine Lewis. Great grandchildren, Matthew Ziare Lewis, Amad Nasser Lewis El, Alnna Aijon Lewis, Imia Madison Lewis, Ian Desmond Lewis, Ameer Ali Lewis El, and his adopted family Michael Granberry (Pansy), Noland Granberry (Lisa), Vanessa Wilson (Tony), Christopher, Mikea, Haile, Benjamin, Charleston, and Zachariah. Loren is also survived by a host of cousins, friends, and Ford co-workers in Michigan, Ohio, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, California, Texas, New Jersey, and Indiana, including special family friends Jackie, Donna, and Warren, Thomas.
Friends and family will gather from 3:00 p.m. until service time at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250.

Experiencing the lost of a beloved family member is one of the hardest thing that any of us can go thru. And because of that my thoughts and prayers are with your family.
