Lily Johanna Collins, age 2, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on October 11th, 2016 following a sudden illness. Her final days were spent surrounded by loving family and friends. Lily’s body will be buried, but her soul is already in Heaven with Jesus!
Lily was born in Indianapolis, IN on July 17th, 2014 to Jonathan “Jon” and Suzanne Collins and became instant best friends with her older sister, Emmarie. Lily loved and was dearly loved by her family. She was generous with her hugs, kisses, and “I love you’s.” This was most evident during her weekly extended family dinners.
Lily’s body may have been small, but her personality was larger than life. Lily had an amazing sense of humor assigning silly nicknames to her family, tattling on her sister’s toots, and accurately using the phrase, “party foul.” Lily carried herself like no other. She bounced more often than she walked, twirled her foot when she was content, and stopped to dance when music was playing. Her sparkling eyes and contagious smile captivated everyone she met.
With her curiosity and joy, she taught her family that every day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. Lily loved to be outside hunting for worms and cicada shells, mimicking squirrel chatter, and feeding ducks in the neighborhood ponds. Inspired by Peppa Pig, Lily loved jumping in puddles after every rain. Lily was rarely afraid to try something new, preferring adventures around town to staying in at home.
Lily will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but they know she is on her greatest adventure yet. She has joined her family in heaven and is now seeing the face of our loving, heavenly Father.
Lily was preceded in death by her paternal Great-Grandparents Elmer “Rip” Collins, and Niels and Mary Ploug; and maternal Great-Grandparents Charles “Chuck” Boltz, and Fred and Clara Orr.
Lily is survived by her adoring parents, Jon and Suzanne Collins; best friend and sister Emmarie Collins; Great-Grandma Frances “Jean” Collins of Akin, IL; Great-Grandmother Dortha “Sue” Boltz of Greenwood, IN; Grandpa Kevin and Grandma Gerda Collins of San Jose, CA; Pops Steve and Nana Martha Boltz of Indianapolis, IN; Auntie Deborah Collins of Fishers, IN; Unkie (Uncle) Jonathan Boltz of Indianapolis, IN; Unkie David Boltz of Indianapolis, IN; and Auntie Jacqueline Zarzoza Arévalo of Lima, Peru, South America.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16th, 2016 from 3-6 p.m. and again on Monday, October 17th, 2016 at 10 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 a.m. at College Park Church, 2606 West 96th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46268. Burial will be private.
Memorial donations may be made to the College Park Church Benevolent Fund, 2606 West 96th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46268. Please designate specifically for the “Lily Collins Project”.
Lily’s family is especially grateful for her compassionate, medical team at the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital PICU at St. Vincent and their loving church family at College Park Church – Fishers Campus.

Julia Hernandez says
I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. I personally know the loss of a loved one, and the pain can seem overwhelming, especially with one so young and vibrant. However, I found comfort in the Bible’s promise for the future. Acts 24:15 speaks of a resurrection, a time when God will reunite us with our loved ones again! I hope this helps bring some comfort in this time of sorrow.
