Lila Jean (Cowen) Trump passed away June 20, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Gaston, IN; she was 87 years-old.  Lila was born in South Bend, IN on August 23, 1929 to Lois Mae (Yeider) and Ira Anthony Cowen. It was in South Bend where she met James Edward Trump, her future husband. Following their wedding on June 25, 1948, they moved to Norfolk, VA where Jim was stationed in the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge, they returned to South Bend where they started their family before moving to Indianapolis, IN in 1956.

Lila is survived by her daughters Sheryll Lynn (Sherri) Trump (Dave Davidson) and Darci Leigh Sieracki (Dennis), her sons James Edward (Tobi) Trump, Jr (Debbie), and Nelson Ira (Buddi) Trump (Beth), 15 grandchildren , 26 great- grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, sisters Judy Eddy (Gordon) and Suzy Mechling (Jack), brother Douglas Cowen (Jan) and a number of nieces and nephews.  Lila was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, her eldest daughter, Roxanna Marie (Roxi) Spoon (Kenneth); her grandson, Adam Crago, and her sister, Bettie Mae (Cowen) Paluzzi.

Lila devoted her life to her husband and five children. She and Jim loved ballroom dancing and bowling. She was a fabulous seamstress and cook. Her favorite moments were spent with family, particularly reunions at “the lake”. When the children were all grown, she and Jim moved to Port St. Lucie, FL where they lived for 25 years until his passing in 2007. She returned to Indianapolis to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Most recently Lila resided with her daughter, Sherri, who cared diligently for her until she succumbed to Alzheimer’s.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 followed by a service at 3:00 p.m. at Indiana Funeral Care/Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or National Alzheimer’s Association.
