
Lawrence Edward Volz, 77, passed away January 23, 2017.
He was born February 27, 1939 in Bronx, New York, the son of Francis Charles Volz and Anna Elizabeth (Delauney) Volz.
Lawrence was a business owner and a member of Greenwood Christian Church.
Mr. Volz is survived by his wife, Normalee; siblings, Tom (Patricia), William (Joy), Carol (Roy), and Jane (Nick); children, Debbie Patterson of Fort Pierce, Florida, Jeff (Andre) Brown of Whiteland, Indiana, Carla (Paul) Phipps of Indianapolis, and Phillip Volz of Oakland Park, Florida; 5 grandchildren, Roger Graham, Dennis Graham, Brandon Finklestein, Matthew Phipps, and Kaitlyn Phipps; and 7 great-grandchildren, Nathan Graham, Marissa Graham, Briana Graham, Emily Graham, MacKenzie Graham, Jake Graham, and Finn Phipps.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Betty and Joan; and brother, Charlie and Kenny.
Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 7031 S East St, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Ross Tyler officiating. Burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery will take place on a different date.
