Lawrence Edward Woodruff, 67, of Indianapolis, IN went to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, with his loving family by his side.
Known for his sharp sense of style, eccentric artistic skills and witty remarks, affectionately referred to as “Poochie” by those who love him, Lawrence had a heart of gold behind his “smooth laid back exterior”. Diagnosed with cancer at age 66, a mere 3 days before his 67th birthday, Lawrence set out to prove that the diagnosis was not going to cramp his style of life.
Lawrence is survived by his children: Lawrence E. Woodruff Jr. (Christie), Lisa R. Thomas (Curtis), grandchildren: Lawrence E Woodruff III, Alexis B. Coats, Naya M. Ruffin, Jade B. Woodruff, great grandchildren: Lebrayden L. Woodruff, Ayden J. Triplett, sisters: Blanche Scott, Edith Woodruff, Gwendolyn Johnson, Ruth Teeters (Michael), Edwina Woodruff, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and a loving ex partner and friend Marguerite Miller.
Visitation Services will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46250. A Celebration of Life Service will be held immediately after from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.

All my thought and prayers are with his entire family thru this difficult time. Lawrence was very special to me and I still have a lot of love for him. He was kind,a classy dresser with his own unique style. He will remain in my heart but I am thankful that his suffering has ended. I last saw him 3/4/18 and held his hand and prayed for him. I will definitely attend his services. Thank you family

A pray that the family will have a celebration of life. Knowing that he fought a good fight and he finished his course and he kept the faith. Blessings to our family, friends and loved ones. R.I.H. We first met our cousin at the Family Reunion in Indianapolis. We knew he was Blanche and Ruthie’s brother and thought he was so cool and nice! Our Dad, Charlie D, made sure we attended family reunions because this way we would know our family and I am so glad he did. Lawrence is with the Lord and the rest of the Woodruffs that have passed on to the next life. I hope he, our Aunt Lois and Cousin Shirley are having a great time seeing each other again. Just remember; God Is Good ALL THE TIME and ALL THE TIME God Is God and He will keep you during your hour of need.

Sending love and sympathy to my family as we grieve the loss of Poochie who has gone to his eternal life. There is sadness because of the void he leaves but there is joy in knowing he will no longer experience pain and suffering. I will miss his Facebook posts and videos that kept me connected to him. My prayer is that all of you will be strengthened and comforted by the love of God.
