
Larry Howard, 76, of Alexandria, Indiana, went home to be with the lord on March 22, 2014. His family was close by his side. He was born on March 16, 1938 in Insull, Kentucky to Arnold and Lillie (Farmer) Howard. He joined the U.S. Navy when he was 17 years old and spent most of his life living in Florida. Larry is survived by: His wife Janet of Alexandria; his mother Lillie of Auburn, Indiana; sons, Earl Howard (Sumterville, Florida), and Craig Howard (Melbourne, Florida); stepsons, Scott Swingley (Parker City, Indiana), Jay Swingley (Jones, Michigan), Dale Swingley (Anderson, Indiana) and John Harper (Indianapolis, Indiana); 2 grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, and great- grandchildren; brothers, Cecil Howard (Waterloo, Indiana), Ules Howard ( Ft. Meyers, Florida), Curtus Howard (Auburn, Indiana), Ernest Howard (Richmond, Indiana), and Dallas Howard (Bunker Hill, Indiana); One sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Hank Snow (Auburn, Indiana). He is preceded in death by his father, Arnold Howard.
Per Larry’s wishes, there will be no church services, and a cremation will take place. His cremains will be taken to A National Cemetery with Military honors provided. The services will be private for the family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Valeena and the wonderful staff at VA Northern Hospital, Premier Hospice caregivers and Chaplain Brad Smith for the emotional support and care of Larry.
