Kent Mutchmore was an amazing man, a great father, a wonderful friend and husband of Nancy Deck Mutchmore for 39 years. Diagnosed with a rare lung disease last November, he died Dec. 30, 2018 at age 62.
Born in Chicago, Kent was a man of many talents. A gifted athlete, he attended college on a baseball scholarship and played in many sports leagues throughout his life. He treasured his friends from every phase of his life. A highlight each summer was “All Sports Day” spent in Chicago with his high school friends. Kent loved music and photography and excelled in both. A people person, Kent was passionate about his career in Real Estate with Century 21 Scheetz and Berkshire Hathaway. He also totally enjoyed bowling with the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors bowling league.
Most of all, Kent was devoted to his family, to his children Paige and Carter, his nieces and nephews, and the many family dogs. His favorite place in the world was the family’s lake cottage in Petersburg, Illinois. He loved the time he spent there, fishing, boating, spending time with friends and remodeling the cottage.
We were able to donate many of Kent’s organs, so he will continue to live in others. We are thankful he can make a difference in others’ lives.
We want to thank all of the Doctors, Nurses and Respiratory Techs at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. They loved and cared for our family each and every day of his hospitalization.
Kent’s celebration of life will be Feb. 2 at Second Presbyterian Church on North Meridian Street. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m., followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. There will be a Celebration luncheon after the service.
