Katrina M. Corbin, 41, Columbus, OH passed away June 3, 2015.
Katrina Michelle Corbin was born on 02/18/1974 in Springfield, Ohio to Vicky Applin and Kevin Gibson. Along with her identical twin, Katrina was then adopted and raised by Will and Florence Corbin. Katrina resided the majority of her years in Indianapolis, IN. As she was growing up, she attended Perrin Elementary School, Shortridge Junior High, and graduated from Roncalli High School in 1992. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Ohio, before moving to Indianapolis, IN. After graduation she pursued a career in the Healthcare Industry and held many positions as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Home Health Aid.
Katrina was involved in various Performing Arts activities. She was known to have many talents including dancing and singing, whether she was at home dancing around, dancing at family gatherings, making up dance routines with her twin for dance competitions back in the day, you could count on her for enjoyable entertainment, that girl could cut a rug. Katrina loved to sing as well, singing was second nature to her. Her voice was so strong and captivating that people would ask her to sing in their special occasions, which included weddings, quinceaneras, and for church functions. She was always willing to let anyone hear her roar.
For those who knew Katrina, most would consider her family. However, she was blessed to be a part of 2 loving families, one whom she was born to, and one who chose her to be theirs. Katrina was loved and is survived by her birth parents, Vicky Applin, and Kevin Gibson, her father, Will Corbin, her siblings, Leanne Ford, Angela Dotson, George Dotson, Keith Burton, James Burton, Donnie Burton, Paul Burton, She-la Burton, Gwendolyn Burton, Tyrone Applin, Porsche Hagans, Theodore McCoy, John Applin, Michael Corbin, Freddie Corbin, Monica Corbin, Jessica Corbin, Debbie Corbin and her Identical Twin, Karena Corbin. Katrina had numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. She was preceded in death by Mother Florence Corbin, Great grandparents, George and Louise Applin, Grandmothers, Joanne Applin, Thelma Gibson, and Brother, Christopher Corbin.
Katrina had the ability to engage conversation with anyone she crossed paths with, there was nothing liked better than an interesting argument about whether the tree was green, if Katrina said it was purple, it was purple, and there was no changing her mind. Her contagious laugh, her smile, her jokes and just her presence will be truly missed. Our world, the way we once knew it is now forever changed, Katrina Michelle Corbin departed our world so sudden in Columbus, Ohio on June 3, 2015 at the age of 41. She is now rejoined with other loved ones who have left our earth to be at peace. Please continue to pray for those who were near, and dear to her, for those are the ones who will carry on her legacy.

Dear Karena and family – Katrina and Karena were special people from the time they were born, and the Corbin family has been enriched by these two beautiful people. Being separated bodily from Katrina is painful for everyone, but mostly her twin sister, who shared her life so generously and lovingly, always. May happy memories come to you and erase the sadness, and may peace come into your heart. May you dance in heaven, Katrina. Always with love, Ms. Reiberg
