Judy Alley was born 31 July in 1944. She was the fourth of seven children born to John and Elsie Alley. She was passed from the arms of her family to the arms of Jesus on 10 Oct 2014. Judy graduated from Pendleton High School. Her lifelong love for learning new things took her from Anderson College, thru beauty school, massage therapy school, and insurance brokerage school.
Judy loved to travel. She started her adventures as a military wife and worked as a USO volunteer while stationed in the Philippines during the Vietnam War. After returning to Indiana Judy worked in the family business at Story’s Truck Stop as manager for several years. She also managed Idlewood Country Club. She was also co-owner of the Alley Café with her sisters Susan and Jane. After moving to Florida she used that food experience in catering at the same time she volunteered her time working on several state political campaigns and once prepared and served breakfast to former President Nixon and staff.
While in Florida she also worked as a massage therapist, she also pursued her art passion and worked as an assistant to famed scenic artist Molly Anderson, she later transitioned into new profession as an insurance broker.
Judy considered her sons and grandkids as her greatest treasure. Three years ago she returned to Indiana and made a bucket list trip. She went across the country and all the way to Japan spending time with her family along the way. She was preceded in her heavenly birth by her parents John and Elsie, sister Joan Ice, brother John Alley and niece Kara Reddington, and nephew David Ice.
Surviving family includes:
Son Bryan Rowe his children Shandra and Kellen of Spokane Wa., son Ron Rowe his wife Cherie their children Kacey and Tucker of Jacksonville NC. Sisters Jane (Ben) Sabie, Julane (Vic) Sheppard, brother Tom Alley all of Pendleton In., sister Susan (Jim) of Crossville Tn., sister-in-law Rita Alley and Daisy of North Webster in, and a special friend Lela Vann of Jacksonville Fl.
Special thanks to D.J Edwards, Sarah Bergamasco, Helen Payne, Janet Hosier and Mike Delawter for their love, care, and support.
A life Celebration will be held at Falls Parks in the conservation building beginning at 7:00 pm on Thursday October 16th. A private graveside service will be held at later date.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Amvets Post 26 Ladies Auxilary to support helping hands Christmas fund.
