Joseph (Jay) V. Frank III
Jay left this earth on April 1 2019. He was 63 years old. He was born on July 27, 1955 in Indianapolis, the son of Joseph V. Frank Jr, and Roberta J Frank.
Jay was preceded in death by his father, Joseph V Frank Jr, and his wife Kristen Every Frank.
Jay served in The United State Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged as a Sargent. He was very proud to have served his country. Even at the height of his illness one of his favorite phrases was “Semper Fi.”
Jay worked for the State of Indiana in several capacities. He also worked as a Dietary Supervisor at Larue Carter Hospital. Prior to his illness Jay was looking forward to enjoying his retirement.
Jay was an avid Colt’s fan, and love attending their games. He was also a fisherman, and in particular loved to bass fish. His greatest past time though was his motorcycle. He loved to go on long rides with his sister, as well as just to clean and polish his bike. Showing off his motorcycle was one of his greatest joys. Jay was very much a family man. His grandchildren meant the world to him. He loved them dearly, as well as his children.
Jay is survived by his mother, Roberta Frank, sisters Cheri, Beth and brother John. Children Joseph, Michael, Kara and Kayla Frank, and 5 grandchildren.
Jay will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family. He could always bring a smile to your face with a joke or a witty remark. Jay changed the dynamic of a room just by walking it.
Visitation will be 10am-11am Saturday April 13 At St. Pius Catholic Church. 7200 Sarto Dr. Followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11am.
In Lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Wounded Warrior Project. 230 West Monroe St. Suite 200 Chicago IL 60606

Jay,
Your life on earth was too way short
I will forever miss you, my big brother.
I know in my heart you are finally at peace and it is those of us left behind that are hurting.
Christmas at John’s will never be the same without you!!
Thank you for always being the life of the party and for caring so deeply for those you loved.
You were always there for your family and I know you will continue to be there for us, but just from a different place now.
I love you Jaybird.

I was Jay’s Supervisor from 1979 to 1980 at Camp Pendleton, CA. He was not only an outstanding and dependable Marine but he also became a valuable and cherished friend. Unfortunately, after his discharge from the Marine Corps, we lost contact. Over the years, I attempted to locate him on Social Media but was unsuccessful. Today, another of “my Marines” called to notify me of Jay’s untimely demise. I would like to extend my Condolences to all of Jay’s family and friends and let you all know that he was an Outstanding Marine! Please allow me to bid farewell to Sergeant Joseph (Jay) V. Frank III, USMC, a Great Friend and a fellow Marine. Jay, May You Rest in m Semper Fi Marine!!
