What a glorious day for Bill! No more pain and now face to face with his Lord. We know that he’ll be missed but he’s simply gone ahead – and we’ll see him again. Our prayers are with you all, with love.

I am sorry to hear that Bill has died. I remember many wonderful evenings and weekends at the “Ashby farm.” Bill was always kind and patient with us kids and our desire to “help” with the chores as well as our plans for Halloween in the corn crib.

Our heartfelt condolences to the whole Ashby Family on your loss of a husband, father, and grandfather. Were we not in Kenya we would most certainly mourn with with you at the funeral and graveside. I, John, can never remember not knowing Bill Ashby as I grew up at Faith Missionary Church and Walnut Grove Chapel. Bill and Lil have been fast friends and supporters of ours for over 17 years in Africa. What a debt we owe them for all their encouragement! We’ll never forget Bill’s service to the country in WW2 and his references to “the Bulge” where he fought. Elizabeth and I will never forget Bill and Lil taking the long trip to Bill’s native State of WV for our wedding in Bluefield. We will miss Bill very much and promise Lil and the family our prayers.

Dear Lil and family- my thoughts and prayers are with you today especially. I am so glad that I had the privilege of knowing Bill for many years. I have great memories of times spent at church and in your home. I know that you both have been faithful prayer partners over the years. I am so glad that Bill is no longer in pain but rejoicing with his Lord.

    Love and prayers, Ginny
