John Lee Snowden 65, Indianapolis, Indiana passed away at 1 a.m. on November 4, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. John was born in Port Huron, Michigan on December 19, 1949 to Andrew and Blanche (Montney) Snowden.

In March 1993, John retired from the Logansport State Hospital after 24 years of service.

Mr. Snowden was an avid thrift store shopper. Lawn care work and home remodeling projects were his hobbies and favorite source of therapy.

John is survived by his “wipe” Doris Jean- his beloved Bishon Frise companion animal. Also surviving are two daughters, Jackie Lynn (Doug) Foster of West Point and Emily ‘Maime’ Snowden of Kokomo, and his baby sister, Annie (Steve) Wheeldon of Lafayette. John has four grandchildren; Ronnie Conklin, Devin Bates, Ryan Monroe, and Cody Norris.

Preceding John in death in addition to his parents are two brothers; Sam Snowden and Bob Snowden and two sisters; Barbara Cook and Sharon Waller.

Visitation will be on November 8, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Harry Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250 followed by a memorial service from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. officiated by pastor Rob Mifflin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Damien Center or the Humane Society.

    My heart is heavy with your passing. I always had you to reminisce with after Bobs passing. You were always there to help me through the rough times. You are now with Bob and your pain is gone, for that I am happy. Thank you brother.
