John “JD” Duenez, of Plymouth, Indiana, born on September 14, 1955 in McAllen, Texas, to the late Jesus and Eudelia Duenez and passed away at his home at age 62 on June 10, 2018 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was in the telecommunications industry as an engineer at WTHR-TV in Indianapolis, IN for almost 40 years. He loved anything electronic, photography, cars and guns. He was proud to be an American and worked hard his entire life.
John was the devoted husband to Sandra “Susie” Duenez (his Queen) and they would have celebrated their 41 year wedding anniversary in August together. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Guadalupe Duenez and an unnamed grandchild. John is survived by his daughter (his Princess) Sarah (David) Armes and five grandchildren: John, Isaac, Silas, and twins George and William. He is also survived by his brother Jose (Carol) Duenez and his sister Delores (Eddie) Phillips. He was a member of the Lighthouse of Mercy Church for many years, and loved the Lord.
John will be dearly missed by everyone that loved him. His sense of humor and wit will be fondly remembered. Above all, his generosity and willingness to serve others in any capacity that he was able to, and do so with love, tenderness and selfless compassion, will never be forgotten. He taught his daughter, son and grandchildren the value of love through his actions every day. There simply are no words that can adequately convey how large a hole his passing makes in the the lives of his loved ones. He was truly a treasure and will be missed until we are reunited in Heaven again.
Friends and family can pay their respects on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46250. Visitation from 12 pm – 2 pm with services beginning at 2 pm.

I’m so sorry to hear about John’s passing. I have worked with John for many, many years and have always appreciated his kindness and sense of humor. I told him he reminded me of my brother and ever since, he called me ‘sis’. I will miss him. My deepest condolence to Susie and the family for their loss.
