On Friday, May 4, 2018, John Huff, husband, father, brother, friend, avid fisherman and grill master passed away at the age of 63 after a brave and strong fight with a long illness.
John will be forever remembered by his wife, Barbara, his daughters Sarah (Marcus) Bowling, Laura (Joseph) DiSalvo, Lisa Foley, Carrie Huff-Smith, Aja Perez, Kathryn Huff, son John Huff, his grandchildren and siblings Gail (Larry) Harris, Alan Huff, and Karen Miller.
John was a special part of a large extended family of sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews and a loyal friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Babe and Elaine Theroux and John Huff Sr. and a brother, Richard Huff. He had a passion for cooking, fishing, and his dogs Maggie and Bubba.
As a native of Holyoke, Massachusetts, John was a Red Sox and Patriots fan. Even after 23 years in Indianapolis, his loyalty to his home state teams never waned. He enjoyed time spent at the coast fishing and crafting fishing lures for his business, Bernzy Bait. He truly enjoyed his work as a Sales Representative for Kramer Graphics.
John was a giver and a doer and took great joy in cooking a meal or helping his family and friends with whatever they needed. His will to live and fight his illness will be admirably remembered. The memories of spending time as a family, his helpful nature, and presenting his loving wife, Barbara, with red roses will live on forever. We will miss you Papi.
A funeral service in memory of John will be held on Tuesday, May 8th with visitation from 4-7 pm and prayer services immediately following. Services will be held at Indiana Funeral Care on 8151 Allisonville Road.
John’s family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

My condolences to the Huff family for your loss. John was a good guy and I was glad to know him for several years! We were fellow lure builders and would talk often! Glad I bumped into John up here in New England about a year and a half ago. He will be remembered always.

I knew John through his work. I suspect that he worked in much the way he lived. John was a ‘long-term’ thinker. He was always working in partnership with you looking to better the lot of both parties. He looked for good in people and loved to help people along the way. His advice was always sound, as was his understanding of people and how they saw a problem. He always sought to build the connection with people and develop long term business relationships. In this way you got the sense of a truly good man who saw more than today, but was in a sense an ‘old soul.’
To his much loved family, I say you are so lucky to have enjoyed a life with John, and suspect he will lever leave you.
John, your memory endures in the only way any of us can have our memory endure: You touched people’s lives.
