
John Charles Hyman, 74, passed away December 14, 2014 at the home of his sister in Converse, surrounded by his siblings and his very special buddy, Nathan(City Boy). Mr. Hyman, a resident of Somerset, was born in Converse on June 3, 1940 to Arthur Johnson and Ruth Helen (Barney) Hyman. An SP4 in the U.S. Army from 1961-1964, he was a paratrooper in the 86th Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. After discharge from the Army, he was a journeyman electrician in Central Indiana and in New York City. He finished his career at the Chrysler Transmission Plant in Kokomo.
He is survived by five siblings: Linda (Robert) Cain, Kim (Mike) Saylors, Rowenna Kay Ottinger, all of Converse, Roxanna (John Paul) Hoffman of Peoria, IL, and Steve (Mark Lee Taylor) Hyman of Nashville, TN., and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by four stepchildren: Mike (Jan) Thompson, Mark (Sandy) Thompson, Steve Thompson, Tina (Sam) Swain, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings: Nancey Sue, and Thomas Joe.
There will be no funeral services, but a family memorial will be held at a later date.
