Joan Ida Ginter Havrilesko, 84, passed away due to natural causes at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN on January 7, 2016 at 1:35 a.m. Born in Gary, Indiana on November 3, 1931 to Joseph and Esther (Scalf) Ginter. She graduated from Edison High School and was well known for her vocal ability in school contests throughout the district and state. She was married in November 1949 to Robert Lee Havrilesko, who preceded her in death on February 8, 1993.

Surviving are three daughters, Esther Pokorney, Bobbi (Tom) Tierney, Joy (Butch) Fahler; two sons, Doug (Cheryl) Havrilesko and Chris (Judy) Havrilesko; 14 grandchildren, Micah Pokorney, Kelly (Mark) Hendricks, John (Kim) Pokorney, Aaron (Ressie) McLaughlin, Nathan (Kristin) Conner, Tara Tierney, John Tierney, Anna Havrilesko, Ben (Danielle) Havrilesko, Shelley (Jeff) Turkstra, Jessy Havrilesko, Tim (Richelle) Fahler, Don (Stephanie) Fahler, Sharon Beth Fahler; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and daughter, Marcia Obenland. No services or visitation are planned.
