Indianapolis – Joan F. (Kyttle) Daly died the 19th of May at home surrounded by family. She now joins her husband of 52 years Daniel P. Daly, her father and mother, brothers Robert and Thomas Kyttle, sisters Barbara (Kyttle) Guarino and Janice (Kyttle) Mattioli, as well as Joseph and Edward Jozeferick, Mary (Kyttle) Porter, and Edward and Elaine (Daly) Gona.
Born in 1932 in Forty Fort, PA to Ephraim and Ellen Kyttle, Joan graduated Forty Fort High School in 1950. She joined the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) and served during the Korean War until she married Dan in 1952 on Okinawa. She then worked for the US Government for 42 years, retiring in 1994 from the Finance Center at Ft. Benjamin Harrison.
Joan was an avid traveler, was very active in community work, and was a member of St. Lawrence Church in Indianapolis.
She is survived by her brother Edward Kyttle and sister Ellen (Kyttle) Casterline, numerous nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, and great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces, all of which brought her great joy.
She will be laid to rest with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Army Emergency Relief Fund (www.aerhq.org), the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (www.fallenheroesfund.org), or your favorite charity.
