Jeremy Edward Christensen, 43 of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017. Jeremy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 6, 1973 to parents Wave C. Christensen, Jr and Vicky Ann Leonard.

Jeremy graduated from Lawrence North High School in 1993. He joined the Army after High School and served four years. During his military service he drove a Bradley Tank. He also served in the Indiana National Guard for several more years. Jeremy enjoyed several employment opportunities; he was a grounds keeper and a heavy equipment operator for a construction company.

In Jeremy’s free time he loved to barbeque for family and friends. He loved riding dirt bikes, playing guitar, fishing and growing plants in his small garden.

Jeremy was very brave and never gave up….. the disease may have taken his body but not his soul….Jeremy has been set free to fly! Rest in peace Jeremy and know you were so loved and will be missed deeply by your family and friends!

He is survived by wife Khitt Christensen, son Bryant Christensen, mother Vicky Leonard, stepmother Sherry Christensen, grandmother Carolyn Leonard, sisters Lori Christensen and Brooke Emerson and brothers Kevin Christensen, Anthony Leonard and Sheridan Emerson. He is proceeded in death by his father Wave C. (Bud) Christensen, Jr.; grandparents Wave C, Sr and Pat Christensen and grandfather William Ray Leonard.

Kevin, Jeremy’s loving brother, wishes to pay tribute to his brother “Today my greatest big brother Jeremy Christensen has finally found peace. At the age of 43 he bravely fought cancer and the complications associated with his treatment for over 12 years. Today I honor you My Hope is that my brother is among those that I have lost over the last 8 years. May you now smile again among them!”

There will be a private memorial service planned for the spring. If you wish, you can make a donation in Jeremy’s name to the Lymphoma Foundation of American at www.lymphomahelp.org.

Bryant, I am saddened by the pain you are going through. It is hard to understand why God chooses one soul over another but I try to remember something I read long ago. “When you go to the flower garden, you always choose the most beautiful.”

Jeremy was a nice young man. I was his school bus driver in High School. May he rest in peace. So sorry for your loss.
