Jennifer “Michelle” Parks, 43, passed away February 25, 2019 at Castleton Health Care Center in Indianapolis after a brave, strong, and lengthy fight with congestive heart disease.
Michelle was born in Indianapolis on October 11, 1975 to Brett Alan Parks and Denice Darlene (Hawkins) Kennedy. She attended Zionsville Community Schools for many years then graduated from Franklin Community High School in 1994. She was married to Glen McGovern on November 13, 2009 who preceded her in death in 2014. She is also preceded in death by her loving mother Denice; and her son Tyler Parks who died at birth. She is survived by her father and stepmother Brett and Mary Parks; grandmother Sonja Davis; grandparents Jack and Jackie Hawkins; sister Tepic Parks; her three sons Austin Childs, Masson Corlette, and Malieki Parks; her companion Brad Gillum; aunts; uncle; niece; nephew; and cousins.
Although we wish she could have been with us longer, we are forever grateful for the time we’ve had with her and to know that she no longer has to endure the pains of this world. Michelle was a natural born leader, with a fighting spirit. She was quick to forgive and kept a positive attitude throughout so much adversity in her life. Fiercely loyal to those she loved, her sense of humor and generous loving nature will be missed by all those who love her.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Concordia Cemetery, 2703 S. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46225
