Jeff was born June 10, 1960 to the union of William Frank and Nina Frances Hardrick in New London, Connecticut.
He married Candace Leona Martinez on December 12, 1990 and they resided in Muncie, Indiana.
Jeff and Candy met in Mayport, Florida where they were stationed at Naval station Mayport as shipmates.
Jeff was raised in Mystic Connecticut. As a youth he played baseball; football and loved cars!
Jeff’s career path took him into the ship yards as a pipe fitter and sheet metal trade then into carpentry at an early age as he worked with his father refurbishing houses and buildings under the family owned business Seaport Construction Company until 1981 when he moved to Tacoma Washington joining his parents and sister. He began working for Tacoma Boatbuilding Company as an apprentice sheet metal worker and later became a journeyman.
In 1987 he joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Jacksonville Florida where he and his lovely wife Candace met and began their life journey for 29 years! They became parents of 3 boys and 1 girl. They also were guardians for Candy’s sister, nephew and niece.
Upon completion of serving his tour of duty in the Navy Jeff worked laying cables; doing carpentry jobs and then relocated to Bremerton Washington where he and Candy resided for several years. In 1998? They moved to Muncie Indiana and became Contractors working sideby-side doing carpentry jobs and refurbishing properties.
Jeff was diagnosed 6 years ago with a very aggressive cancer and he and Candy have fought each stage of this disease valiantly even to the end of this battle at 10:06 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019 at the VA Medical Roudebaush Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Jeff was surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his mother Nina F. Hardrick; his father William F. Hardrick, Sr.; his eldest brother William F. Hardrick, Jr.
Jeff is survived by his wife:
Candace M. Hardrick; his sons: Sylvester I Hardrick; Jeffrey D Hardrick, Jr; Prince Brandon Hardrick and daughter Nina L. Hardrick; sister-in Tracy Sullivan; nephew David Shockey; niece Mikala Sullivan.
Jeff also leaves his sister Cathy H Thomas (Keith); nephew Nikkolas Thomas
(Saniyah); niece Nia Thomas (Nova) of Indianapolis, IN; brother Theodore TG Hardrick (Jackie); nephew Tyler Hardrick and niece Takara Hardrick of San Diego, CA.; sister in law Tommy Fay (Billy) Hardrick, Saginaw, Michigan; and a host of cousins and friends.
There will not be a funeral but instead a celebration of LIFE party given by Sylvester, JJ, Brandon and Nina. Anyone wishing to pay him their last respects is welcome to Join us!

Candy, you know Jeff was my best friend and I was so happy you 2 hit it off when I introduced you. My heart sank with your message, it broke when I called and talked to y’all on Friday. Monday night it crushed. I know not nearly as bad as yours. We have been a threesome of best friends and I made the promise I to always keep in touch with you.
