
Janice Helen Fadel, July 5, 1949 to Jan. 30, 2015. Janice Helen Fadel of Carmel, IN, entered into eternal life Jan. 30, 2015. She was born in Atlanta, GA to parents, Michael and Rosa Jacobs. She grew up with her parents and older brother Mykle, in Iron Mountain, MI.
After graduating from Michigan State University, she taught at East Elementary School in Iron Mountain, MI. She then obtained her M.A. Ed from Northern Michigan University. She married Douglas Fadel in 1979, and resided in Hickory Hills, IL until Jan. of 1985. They moved to Carmel, IN, where they raised three children. She taught at Woodbrook Elementary School for over 22 years, where she impacted the lives of thousands of children. She was a devoted member of St. George Orthodox Christian Church in Indianapolis, IN, serving in the choir, as Sunday School Superintendent, and as Parish Council President. She was a member of Antiochian Women and The Order of St Ignatius. During the last eleven years of her life, she courageously battled breast cancer, inspiring hope and courage in all who knew her.
She is survived by husband, Douglas, three children: Andrew Fadel, Billy (Amanda) Fadel, and Christa Dooley (Sean), her beloved grandchildren, Raegan, Sean Jr., Ethan, and Emma Rose. She is also survived by her loving brother, Mykle (Candy) Jacobs and other nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Visitation will be Wed., Feb 4 at St. George Orthodox Church (10748 E. 116th St. Fishers, IN 46037) from 3 pm to 8pm (with Daily Vespers and Trisagion Services beginning at 6:30 pm). Vigil will be Thurs., Feb. 5 from 10 am to 11 am. Funeral to begin at 11 am.
