Age 87, passed into God’s hands on September 10, 2016.  He is survived by his loving wife Mae, daughter Debby (Dave) Hilgendorf, son-in-law Chuck Marofske, grandchildren Chuck Marofske, John (Diane) Marofske,  Nancy (Doug) Guerra, Joel (Megan) Hilgendorf, Jim (Kate) Marofske, Kyle (Krista) Hilgendorf and Emily (Josh) Taylor as well as 19 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Loine Marofske.

Jim spent most of his life working for the Santa Fe Railroad and ended his career as the head of the Employee Benefits Association.  He loved time with his family especially time spent with grandchildren and great grandchildren.  And, he was indisputably the world’s biggest Chicago Cub fan!  Visitation will be Saturday September 17 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 8115 Oaklandon Rd, Indianapolis from 1:00-2:30 PM with a memorial service at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at  http://main.nationalmssociety.org/goto/JRiggs  Final arrangements are being handled by Indiana Funeral Care.
