James Edward Pfister was an incredible man who was loved by all who met him. His kindness, friendliness and genuine love for people were inspiring. His love for the Lord was apparent in his selflessness and love for others. He was born in Mansfield, OH on May 13, 1954 and passed away at age 58 on April 7th, 2015. His son, Mikhael Schnepp Pfister (age 23), and his daughter, Krystle Roberts (age 29), son in law, Greg Roberts, and ex-wife, PJ Schnepp, miss him dearly. Jim was known by many as “Doc” because of his many years of practicing Chiropractic Care in Carmel, IN. He was recently residing with his brother (Jer Pfister) and sister-in-law (Jean Pfister) working as an anatomy and physiology professor at North Metro Tech in Georgia. His ashes will be taken up to Alaska by his daughter and son, a trip which he and his son had been planning to take in the years to come. There are no words to describe how deeply he is loved and dearly missed by his family and friends. We will be celebrating his life on April 11, 2015at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250, at 10:00 am with a memorial service, followed by reception until 1:00pm.
We love you Dad and miss you dearly,
Krystle, Mikhael and Greg.
“In peace we will lie down and sleep, For Thou alone, O Lord, dost make me to dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:8

Doc was an amazing person. He was not only an excellent professor but one of the kindest people I have ever encountered. He genuinely cares about each and everyone of his students. He was always making us laugh, he told us to make sure we always stay one step ahead, and to do what makes us genuinely happy. Doc was not there to just hand us a grade but to instill the love of learning in each of his students. He was a genius and so very passionate about his work. I can not believe he is gone but I do know that I will see him again one day when I get to aheaven. I have no doubt that is where he is at. He is having the party of his life.
He will truly be missed and never forgotten.

I’m so saddened to hear this news. Dr. Pfister was one of my favorite professors at CTC. I will miss him asking me about my husband everytime I saw him even though they’ve never met. You couldn’t ask for a sweeter man. Mikhael, Krystle, and Greg – be comforted in the amount of love he had for all of you. He spoke so fondly of you in numerous classes. My prayers go out to you and the rest of your family. I’m comforted in knowing I will see his smiling face again when it’s my turn to go home. God bless!

Dr. Pfister was my Anatomy instructor and mentor. When I first met him, I knew he was rare. A true prince of men whose kindness radiated from his genuine heart. I will never forget all that he has done for me, and his support in helping me with graduate school. He makes me want to become a better man. I know he is in a better place now. To his family, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you all.

I am so sad. I have been keeping in touch, and calling. . . I just thought he was busy. I just found this. . . I am so sad. My most recent conversation was all about you kids and how proud he is and was of you all. And of course, funny stories about Mikhael’s truck. And how it was ok for for him to come live with you in his old age. ANd how Krystle said, “Daddy. . .” and he described how you wanted him there for when you have kids. . . and he said he would be there. . . I just can’t believe this. . . I am sorry to babble. . . And how he was worried about a cow, and Jer put it in the garage. Oh, I so loved talking to him. Now, I will talk to him in heaven. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. I love and miss each of you. . . Oh, saw Krystle’s wedding picture, dancing with Doc. . . that look on his face equals heaven. . . that is his heaven as well. Hope you are all doing ok. And, I hope this somehow finds its way to you. Hope medical school and residency is going well, and Mikhael’s school and USMC is going well, too. And, Greg, I remember you, too. Doc and I cracked up. . . Greg is pretty solid and secure wearing those care bear jammies, waaay back in the day. Gosh, I am in shock. And, know he is in a great place. Love to you all. b.
